My two children attend Tarwater and the teachers are wonderful! Lots of parental involvement. When they started they were both behind academically and now they are both at grade level and excelling due to Tarwater.

We have had a wonderful experience at Tarwater so far. As our neighborhood school, it truly feels like a community where everyone knows your name. The teachers are the heart of this school. They are incredibly dedicated, knowledgeable, and seem to genuinely love what they do. They don't just teach the curriculum; they mentor the students. We’ve also been very impressed with the Administration. They are professional, approachable, and clearly committed to maintaining a high standard of excellence while remaining supportive of families. The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is amazing and very active, which makes it easy to get involved and meet other families. Most importantly, our kids are happy. My children come home excited about what they are learning. Country Reports, Gardening, Robotics, the Dragon Dance. They are learning a lot academically, but they are also growing in character. If you’re looking for a school that balances a rigorous education with a warm, virtuous environment, I cannot recommend Tarwater enough!

We love the Tarwater community! Our children are thriving academically and are consistently supported in the classroom. Beyond the academics, the school has a fun welcoming community that makes families feel involved! We are very happy with our experience here!

Tarwater is a truly special place - kids that support each other and push each other to be better, great families in the community, and teachers and staff who truly care about the whole picture with these kids. Not to mention, how many other public school Mandarin Immersion programs will you find out there we are incredibly lucky to have such a unique and top-notch program in CUSD.
