Namesake

PTO & Dad's Club

We firmly believe that it takes a village to raise a child and Tarwater is definitely our village. PTO is here to create a community for the families of those children attending our school and one defining characteristic about our school is great parent involvement. We take great pride in what we strive to achieve here at Tarwater by always being a support system for our teachers. Tarwater is the best school because of our TEACHERS and, therefore, the PTO is always here to support them. If there is anything we can ever do for you, please don't hesitate to stop a PTO member and ask! These are OUR kids and our future leaders. Please let us know how we can serve our children better!

What is Dads Club?

We provide handyman services to the teachers, to create a better environment and a better experience for our kids.
Like What?

Small construction projects, cleaning and painting, creative solutions, and repairs.
Basic carpentry, craft, and handiwork skills are appreciated, but not required.
Any professional expertise is welcome too.

In the past, we have:

Built / Assembled Cabinets and Shelves for Teachers.
Painted Activities in the Playgrounds.
Hosted Darling Daughter Dances each Spring.
Hosted Fall Movie Nights.

So, how much time is this gonna take?

We will try to meet once a month, and coincidentally there are usually sports and refreshments available.
We will need several people to help sell pizza and soda at the fall festival, on Friday, October 28th, and do legwork beforehand for donations, etc.
We will do a few projects throughout the year... maybe asking for a few hours, on two or three Saturdays. That’s it!
If you can attend a few meetings, or help out just once, every little bit helps!

It’s all about the kids!

Site Council

Tarwater's School Site Council is a group of parents and staff members that work with our principal to develop, review and evaluate school programs; both curricular and non-curricular. The members of Tarwater's Site Council meet quarterly. We are grateful to our staff and parents dedicated to the process of making Tarwater the best it can be!

In accordance with ARS 15-351 The Tarwater Site Council is a collaborative team that considers issues for Tarwater, advises the administrative team, reviews goals and data, approves tax credit expenditures, promotes public relationships, and reviews safety and security for the school.

Volunteer Information

Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for volunteering at our school. Adults who are involved and engaged in their children’s school feel more connected and their children show greater success. Please read and sign the attached Volunteer Information Form, which is required by the district each year. Each member of your family who will be volunteering or chaperoning a field trip will need to have one on file with the office.

Please keep these important rules in mind when you come to volunteer:

Confidentiality

In order to maintain a professional atmosphere where students are safe to work, learn, and play at their own levels, it is essential that we keep all observations confidential. It is a violation of FERPA (Federal Education Right Privacy Act) to share private information about any student with other people.

Workroom Rules

The middle copier in the workroom is for copying twenty copies or less only. The RISO machines are for copying twenty or more copies. Please follow these guidelines, as the copier is not equipped to handle as much volume as the RISO machines.

Due to the teacher’s limited preparation time, we ask that you allow teachers access to machines if they come in while you are working.

We ask that you do not bring children into the workroom while you work due to liability issues.

Dress Code

As a volunteer, we would like to ask that you follow the same dress code as our staff and students.

Clothing shall be clean and appropriate for school wear.
Fishnet, see-through athletic jerseys, short shorts, bare midriffs, halter tops, tube-tops, spaghetti straps,
strapless and low-cut tops are not appropriate school dress. Tank tops should have well fitted armholes

and not gap or hang loosely. Straps should be 2 inches wide. No undergarments should be visible.

Monogrammed shirts that advertise illegal substances for minors or have inappropriate language printed on them are not allowed.
Please dress in a manner that is not distracting and promotes an environment that is conducive to learning.
Take the lead of the teacher. They will guide you in how to be of the most help. Please follow their recommendations. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our volunteer policies. Again, I thank you for your continued support of Tarwater and the positive example you are showing our students.
