Millionaires Club

What is it and why does it exist?
- The Millionaire's Club is open to any student who reads over a million words
- Acclerated Reader will track amount of words read
- The Millionaire’s Club is a way to recognize determined readers that enjoy reading
How do I join?
- All you need to do is read, read, read
- Show what you know by taking an Accelerated Reader quiz in your classroom
- When you reach one million words, you will become a member

Birthday Book Club
Are you looking for a special way to celebrate your child's birthday?
Donate a book to the library through our Birthday Book Club!
Students may come to the library and choose a book from our pre-selected Birthday Book Club titles.
The cost of books is $20.00. Pay at PTO website by clicking here.
A personalized book plate showing the student's name and birthday celebrated will be placed inside the front cover of the book. The Birthday Book Club student will then be the first person to check out the book from the Tarwater library! When it is returned, the book becomes part of the library collection for all students to enjoy.

Accelerated Reader
Your student's intermediate classroom teacher will assign a reading level or reading range based on current reading levels skills. Within Tarwater's Library Collection online program (Destiny), you and your child can search the Tarwater collection for AR books in your child's level. You may access Tarwater's (Destiny) online catalog from any internet connection.

Battle of the Books
Be a part of the book battle this year! Fifth and sixth grade students will be teamed in groups of three to compete and test their comprehension in three exciting school-wide competitions per school year.
Team members will be assigned 4 different books to read for each competition. The highest scoring team from each school will represent their classmates at the Chandler Public Library District Semifinals. The top 3 scoring teams from each of the three Semifinals will compete in the District/City Finale.
The 3 top teams that win at the City level will go on to compete with other cities in the Regional Battle between Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Higley, and Queen Creek.
Battle Dates
Battle #1: Wednesday, October 16th - 3:15 p.m. in the Media Center
Battle #2: Wednesday, January 15th - 3:15 p.m. in the Media Center
Battle #3: Wednesday, April 2nd - 3:15 p.m. in the Media Center
